On hindsight avenue...

It's that time of the year where we look back and reflect on all the decisions we made, all the great things that happened, all the friends we made, kept and dropped, and every other thing that we want to change about 2014. While that's all good and well (trust me, I'm a firm believer in thankfullness), there's a road off reflection lane that I've stopped going down. That's hindsight avenue. It's good to recognise where we've gone wrong in the past and learn from it, but dwelling in the past only lets us dwell on things that may have happened. Learn and move forward.

Best Advice.

On hindsight avenue,
All the cars are parked.
No turn of the wheel can change it's position,
unless you drive round to that spot.

On hindsight avenue,
You can't reverse your way out.
The thing about this place is when you're on it,
It's a detour.
From your destination
You spend so much time there,
you begin to lack motivation
You dwell on the turn you ought to have taken,
Probability replaces aspiration
Possibility becomes the local religion

On hindsight avenue,
you hold regrets,
You hold on to should and could've's...
What if's and had it been's
There's hope in having had another plan.
But there's no point of this place.
Because the past has all happened
And the change in direction
Is simply an illusion
We've created to provide some form of satisfaction
Instead of accepting that we've mad a mistake.

On hindsight avenue,
There's no way out, unless you create your own exit.
In hindsight... we're just wasting time.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I hope 2015 is everything you want it to be
And more importantly.
That you make it happen!
