Embrace yourself.

Embrace yourself before anyone else does.
Love yourself before person tells you they do.
Because it's easy to believe when it's said for the first time.
And simple to overlook what sayer is trying to achieve.

Never down look on yourself, it makes their job easy,
Have faith in your words, they'll protect you one day,
From a low life or a scum bag, who can smell low self esteem,
And has come as you 'saviour', your 'source of relief.'

They'll say things so simple, yet unbelievably sweet,
You'll think they're amazing, because it's the first that you've heard.
They 'wash' you, they'll 'gas' you, till you feel 'amazing'
Soon both truth and lies, are altogether believed.

Now I'm not saying that everyone who compliments is evil,
I'm just saying those who attack the powerless are weak.
For they build them to break them and destroy all confidence,
And dump them to find their own feet.

So believe in yourself, before anyone else does,
So the true ones can never stop with their compliments.
But don't let your confidence, outshine your emotions.
Because then...it's a whole different game.
